Multiples of each model!?! Why?

I have found myself getting multiples of several BK models. The reasons for this have varied. My reasons are maker, good deals and/or wanting to modify one.

BK-2, 19 and 40 - too good of a deal to pass up buying a second copy.
BK-7, 9 and 11 - my originals are Camillus, now I want to set them aside and am buying Kabar duplicates of each.
BK-62 - I didnt find the full length able to perform all the tasks I expected it to. I wanted a shorter version, so I bought a second one used, just to shorten.

Why do you have multiples of some models?

It’s a good question but ultimately it comes down to that I want multiples. Could mean I plan on customizing some, keeping them in different locations, or just that I have an affinity for a certain model and we’ve all seen how some older models have become difficult to get.

If you have to ask, then you don't understand.

Why Multiples? Because we can in America!

My Multiple BK9s was suppose to be two but some odd thing happened and I got 3. All Micartaed handle scales. To useful not to have only one. One stays at the old family farm stead, one for general use and one at home.

My BK2 type Multiples was the heavy use knife needed a back up, really a heavy use shorter strong blade is way more useful than the thinner stock stuff at times. I got 2 BK2, they had Micartas as well, then the BK72 came along and it got the Dogwood Fire Fly Clear Resin and Green Glow Stones handle scales. Making three BK2 types. And the nature of the BK2 beast types, makes it worth having a large handle on 5" knife,

I'd get multiples of BK4s and BK5s if they were still in production. BK4 because its the MOST VERSATILE BK knife there is. BK5 learned its a great large critter cutting knife and jack of all trades.

Some aren't exactly the same, even if the roll-stamp says BK-5....the first batch made in Effingham (which were all kinda one-offs, really), the batch made by Camillus and lastly, KA-BAR...
I have way more than 2 BK-15s...because for me, it's a perfect utility blade that needs no mods (even tho I've given them all at least one or ten) and they just live in several places. It (was) an inexpensive hack to have one handy in the places I want to have one - fishing pack, hunting pack, EDC pack....etc. - and not have to move only one from pack to bag to pack and hope I remember where I left it last.🤨

When you find a knife you absolutely love, then 1 is none and 2 is 1. And so on and so forth. On the off chance that you do break one, you already have a replacement. And just don't do what ever you did to break it again.

Any one who complains I got more than one. I call them a commie and say to get their own.

If I find something that I really really like, I usually don't feel safe unless I have doubles of it. It's weird but also rare that I find that perfect thing.

When there's a knife I really like (and I really like Beckers) I have been known to get a User, a Keeper and sometimes, especially with Beckers, a Back-up Keeper.
This is especially true for knives that I fear being discontinued, ala BK 5 and BK15.

Well added TWO more to my BK2 family... BK82 because I could and wanted it and seeing how handy the BK72 has been, figured why not? Then I saw the KA-BAR sale if an FDE BK2 with a FDE BK22 sheath...Click and and its on its way. I was going to get a BK22 sheath anyways for my 82. I was going to spend the money on the Micarta scales and an TKC one...but...saw the sale... Yep the GATEWAY Becker Blade Got Me Again.
