Hiya boyos, so heres teh question, ive been thinking about finding a replacement for my Skeletool CX recently (my mother bless her heart thinks its "too scary") and so im looking for a medium to fullsize tool of about the same thickness to replace it, i was thinking about the Juice Xe6 but i handled one today and its far too thick for my tastes. so i was wondering, whats the closest thing thickness wise? Comparison pics would be appreciated.also, i would like scissors and a serrated edge on the tool, If possible

Cheers!

Well, it's going to be tough to find a tool as thin as the CX and have a serrated blade. Maybe a Vic Spirit?

If you don't mind giving up the serrated blade and one handed opening, the LM Fuse is a great tool for the money. Nice long blade, a couple of flat drivers, a philips driver, can/bottle opener, scissor, and a lanyard ring. It has been the only new (post 2004) LM tool (short of my CX) that hasn't given me ANY issues in almost 5 years:thumbup:

If the serrated blade is more of a have to have over the scissors, the LM Crunch is a great set of lockable pliers. However, the pliers mechanism eats up a lot of space. You'll have to live with a serrated sheepsfoot blade, couple of flat drivers, bottle opener, philps driver, and a file.

Both of there tools are really thin compared to the larger Juices. Also, with a little looking they can be had well under what you probably paid for the CX.
Good luck:)

The discontinued Juice KF4 is at least one layer thinner than the XE6. I don't know if you can still find it though.

I know what you mean about the XE6 - I have the Pro version and it's like carrying around a small brick. The Leatherman Sc2 has everything the Skeletool has, plus:

scissors
corkscrew
extra screwdriver bits

Same thickness as the Juice S2 or C2. Comes in clearcoat aluminum, blue, or red. I have the clearcoat. I think Leatherman made these for Costco... came in a nice tin with a Micra. Fits nicely into the watch pocket of your jeans.

A lot of utility in a slim package.

Does anyone know if Leatherman still makes the SC2? Seems like a great bulk-to-functionality compromise.
