I just wanted to share with y'all my experience with Mummert Knives. I was looking for a nice EDC and, in my mind, the first thing ya look for is "durability"! After doing a little homework, I chose a 6AI-4V Ti, which is known for it's corrosion resistance. While enjoying common activities, I felt like the last thing I needed to worry about was the knife in my pocket. Humidity and seawater, seems to me, to be the most common factors that induces corrosion such as rust, etc.. Corrosion causes dullness to your blade before it even endures the strenuous daily activities. All this said, I felt like a Ti blade would be the route I would like to take.
While I was checking out many different styles and materials, I landed on Mummert Knives website. I'm no knife salesman or metallurgy expert, so I emailed Marc Mummert with a few questions on some matters at hand. I found myself surprised, with his quick response and informative answers, that a busy knife maker would even respond to my ignorant email. Marc was super nice and very informative to me.
While choosing a blade style, I had to really think of what I wanted. Since my psychic abilities to sense and prepare for "high risk" situations are non existent, I just frantically grab when I need a blade. This in mind, I need a blade that accommodates this need. After browsing Mummert Knives website, like a kid in a candy shop, I used my "grab and slash" tactics and chose his PC-R and the SPUNK styles.
I simply wanted to say a few kind words about my experience with my recent blade purchases and it grew into this, longer than expected, review. Buying these knives, I expected to get treated like I was buying just another knife from just another website and what I got was so much more! People draw their OWN opinion of things due to personal experiences, no matter who says what and my opinion of Mummert Knives is simply "F-ING AWESOME"!!!
