Hi everyone,
Long time lurker on the forum, and a huge fan of hawks because of this group.

A few months back I ran across a small knife maker in Southern California called Mummert a Knives. He specializes in Ti, and has designed a very cool looking hawk he is calling the Typhoon Bolo-hawk. It's pretty large, and he is making a smaller version that will be available soon.

Just wanted to get some thoughts from the group. His website is www.mummertknives.com, but he has more info on his Facebook page. I'm surprised he hasn't been discussed here...he makes some serious badass looking axes.

Here are some pics:

This is the smaller version:

Not to sound too harsh but it looks like the only purpose it has is to look "cool". As far as functionality goes........it appears to have none.

All of my hawks and axes are designed for functionality. Not sure which one you are referring to, but the Typhon BoloHawk was designed to take the place of both a tomahawk and a machete. It does a hell of a job of clearing heavy vegetation quickly. It doesn't do so bad in a combat situation either. The use of titanium allows for a much larger blade without losing control due to excess weight, and maintenance free use in harsh environments where steel will rust.

Ti isn't a metal I commonly associate axes and hawks. Come to think of it for ME Ti doesn't really make any sense for a knife either. Not my cup of tea but if you like it then that's totally cool. :)
