Some time ago, Murat made a "Mamut Guppy". http://forum.weapons.be/showthread.php?t=11648&highlight=guppy After seeing & handling this folder, and after purchasing two ironwood handled folders from Murat, I decided to ask Murat to build me a similar folder. First I asked for a frame-lock, but Murat was not comfortable with it, and asked me if he could make a liner lock. No problem for me, the maker should make what he makes best! Now the folder is finished, and I'm really very happy with the result. Every bit as nice as I expected!

Murat makes some really nice knives. I suspect that he wasn;t comfortable doing a frame lock because it would mean less mammoth showing:D

Not necessarily. Check this one:

The reason he was not comfortable with it was that it didn't work as smooth as the liner locks he makes.

Kind regards,

Man, that is glorious!
Pretty simple, with all things considered, but there is SO much going on there it's difficult to catch it all in one glance.
Impressive.

Thanks for the comments everybody.

THAT my friend IS one gorgeous knife! CONGRATS!! I like Murat's work a whole lot.

Sorry, how do you open it up?

By just grabbing the blade with thumb & index finger and pulling it open. One-handed folders are prohibited in Germany, where this knife was made.

Kind regards,

Jos
