Hi there,
A friend has a knife that's patterned on the SOG bowie which was made by Murphy Combat knives in the late 1980s (50th anniversary of official start of WW2), and which was distributed by the old Ek knife company out of Virginia. I was wondering if anybody had any idea what steel they were using for those knives. The Eks of the era were 440C, I believe, but I have no idea if they had any part in making the Murphy knives or were just marketing them.
Any info would be greatly appreciated.
