murray carter

Murray'w knives are solid well made with the finest of Japanese craftsmanship and would be excellent for you to use. We use on of his kitchen knives all the time.

I've never used one but I held one at a show once. I fell in love with it right away. It had a really nice feel.

I have five of his custom kitchen knives and one of his muteki line. Kind of his "mid-tech" version. I also have 3 more of his muteki's ordered.
They are razor sharp. Seriously the sharpest knives I've used or owned.
I have no doubt that his hunting knives will be as good as his kitchen knives.

Pretty much what he said. ;) :)

Does he still not have a website? I can never find much except word of mouth about him. I've seen a few of his knives for sale and heard that his knives are stupid sharp. (that's a compliment, by the way:) )

I know a guy who said murray moved from japan to the us,I've been looking for his stuff on the web on luck.

He will be giving a demonstration at the Oregon show tomorrow.

I watched his demo there last year and hope to see him again tomorrow.

I spent some time talking with Mr. Carter at the Oregon show yesterday. As a relative knife n00b, I don't know much about knives, but I do know what feels good in the hand and a person who takes their work very seriously. I was very impressed with Mr. Carter and his knives, and I plan to buy one of his Muteki "mid-range" neck knives very soon.

He prints a facinating 16-page catalog. Perhaps he would mail you one if you asked.
