Saw this on a Dave Canterbury video, to use with cotton balls instead of petroleum jelly.

Was in a Dollar General Store tonight and found the orange cans for $2.00 and thought "what the heck, I'll try it".

Mixed a little bit onto a jumbo cotton ball, and one hit on a Swedish Firesteel with the back of one of my Mora's and HOLY CRAP, it went up like a 4 alarm fire! :D

Good to know, not sure if we have it here but I'm sure we have something similar if not !

I'm pretty sure you could use any of those type of hair pomades to get the job done, since I'm pretty sure they all have petroleum jelly ... Some may have a more runny consistency than others but it should still light on a cotton ball/pad..

"Well, it didn't look like a two-horse town, but try finding a decent hair jelly. "

O Brother Where Art Thou

I found this Murray's Beeswax pomade not too long ago at a local Dollar General store.

Worked great on jute twine and on cotton balls. Also tried it on a cotton pad, the kind used for removing makeup; It was like a small lamp. It burned for about 5 minutes with only a nickel sized dollop smeared on the pad.
