I will. :D If debt is good, poverty is even better.

Saw this one years ago on the HI web site; never thought they'd produce a bunch.

email sent for #5.

Question for the weight of #4 (26 oz.) and #6 (28 oz.). They are almost 1 pound lighter than the others. Are those typos?

Thanks and Best Regards,
Ted

I hope not. That influenced my choice considerably.

I hope not either. But I suppose they could be 36 and 38 ounces.

That would seem more likely.

Eric.

These are gorgeous. I don't need to buy one, but they are superb. Can't believe that someone hasn't scarfed up #1. Look at that curve. I'm definitely weakening.

Steve

It'll probably never happen (seeing as I'm sure no one picked up two of those beauties), but I'd love to see a side by side review of the 26 oz and one of the 42 oz. That's a difference of a full pound in knives that are identical lengths! It'd be interesting, especially for those of us who currently don't own more than one of any HI model. :( :D

The Museum Models will be hitting mailboxes as soon as tomorrow. :D Going to compare it with my 36 oz. YCS- that's about my limit for realistic use.

The all-steel handles are going to give it a certain weight anyways- unsure about the lighter & heavier of these. Definitely curious.

Have to subject it to "the test", this being daesin and all.

Agreed. Mine is going to be put through the paces. I'm quite interested in how that handle works for me. I'm also looking forward to how it balances; I'm expecting it to be very neutral.

Time will tell.

Well, I blew a good chunk of the disposable income from back to work check 1 and got the #1 knife here. It may be an optical illusion, but like Steve said it just seemed slightly curvier to me. Of course, having only two left made the decision a bit easier. :D

The hardest hitting knives I own are about 20" and about 40 oz. (Samsher; KH khasa mari, a 21" GR) so this should have a great balance to it. But I also have a Junge at 20" and 28 oz. and know that these lighter ones will handle really nicely.

My only concern is that the back ring clear the wrist, and I think it will. It will be interesting to see where it balances on the blade with the metal handle.

BTW, if I could have picked any length / weight combination it would definitely have been #3. Nice compromise of weight and power.

Norm

Those are AWESOME. Dang. How do they make those handles?
