Appeared overnight. Stands about 3 1/2 - 4" high, and is hollow.
Online search not productive.

Anyone able to ID...?

That's the nearest I could come up with, but it's red tipped, where
the photos/and descriptions are green/gray..???.....perhaps immature
or a variant..?

A type of Stinkhorn for sure, they grow crazy fast like 8 inches tall in a few hours . Weird looking for little things, also if you watch them carefully they undulate(spelling?) lightly waving side to side .

Stinkhorn, I think the common name is something along the lines of a dog's penis.,,,mutinus caninus is the binomial. Or look at mutinus ravenelii,,,,they look a lot alike from what I see of online pics.

Looks like a stinkhorn. I have seen some just like that here in Idaho. And yes, they do have stink in their name for a reason.

Thanks for the replies...!
It appeared overnight Thursday....lasted through the day Friday, and by Saturday
afternoon it had dried and was so small that I nearly didn't see it.....maybe an inch
long by 1/8" thick and bent over.....still red and near white.
