Oh, OK. The current 'non-catalog' Combat Companion which has been available since the mid 1990's, as a Model #1 (hidden tang) type of knife, is available with (I believe) all the Model #1 options (currently up to five) - the Model #14 & #15 CDT's also have those same options available. The Model #14 & #15 full-tang knives have a more limited spectrum of options. The new full-tang Combat Companion is currently even more limited in options - stainless steel only (probably ATS-34), border patrol handle shape only (in either green or black Micarta), and a slightly reduced Model #1 style double hilt (guard) in either brass or nickel-silver...and a few sheath options too, like black or waxed, or no hone. That's it for now, but will likely loosen up over time.
As to a comparison between full tang CC's and #15's though - a similarly configured Model #15 is going to cost about the same, be roughly an inch longer split between handle and blade length, and weigh about twice as much. Same sheath options apply. So, as to your question, IMO, the new full-tang Combat Companion is going to be a big hit with the 'less is more' crowd; i.e. those looking for a strong knife in a light(er) package. Personally, I think the waxed no-hone sheath option would be the cat's meow for this knife.
If you want a new catalog with all the inserts Rick, shoot me a PM and I'll send you the extra I got today - or, send a request to RMK via their website and they'll send you one too, FOC.
On a side note, ten years ago I owned a #15 with a 5" blade that was only 1-1/8" wide spine to blade edge; kinda like a Model #16/16-7SF, as opposed to the 5.5" x 1-1/4" typical of a standard #15 - it was also a little thinner, had a reduced #1 hilt like the new FT/CC's do, and a Border Patrol handle like this knife...I've never seen another, and it was a huge mistake on my part trading it. But, I was new and didn't know better.
