Finally got the chance to post a couple of pictures of the Muskrat that
Nick did up for me.
The Muskrat model is the top one in Nick's information thread

I prefer a darker wood for handle material and have 2 other of Nicks
blades done in Bolivian Rosewood. Here is my Muskrat. Sorry about the
dark pictures. I'm not a photographer and had a heck of a time with the lighting.

With my other knives from Nick

All freshly oiled up. The Muskrat (bottom) has a handle that is
noticeably longer than my Scout and Woodsman.

You can see the difference in thickness of the steel between the knives.
I'm really impressed with the way the Muskrat feels. It handles quite well.
Feels really good in the hand and came shaving sharp.

As you can see by the blades on the Woodsman and Scout, I don't
baby these knives. They get good workouts on a regular basis, and
I expect that my Muskrat will get the same. It's going to be my
fishing knife. Yeah, I know I could have gone to my local hardware store
and got a $15 cheapy for that, but it just wouldn't be the same.:)

Cool pics Dave! I'm pleased it is well accepted. I know I sure like my muskrat:D

Thanks for posting
Nick:)

Gonna have to pass that one off to Nick. I can never remember if
it's A2 or O1.
I just said "Nick, make me a Muskrat with the same handles as I have
on the others" and left Nick to do his magic.

I'm going to try to get some better pictures up soon. Outside ones
with better light. For some reason, it didn't make any difference how
I did the lighting on this one, just couldn't get anything to work out.

edit: Can't really call this one mine yet. Hasn't tasted blood yet.
The Scout and Woodsman both have given me "little" bites, just
enough to let me know that their mine....hehe...still waiting for
the Muskrat to do the same...got the bandaids on stand-by.:D

Nice! Those comparison shots are great, the knife looks a lot different side by side with the others. Love the rosewood handles.

Ok, now I can really call the Muskrat mine!

Like I said, the knife ain't mine until it bites me.

Was cutting up a small piece of wood the other day and it bit me! :o

Nothing major, just a little scrape, but now that my Muskrat has tasted blood, I can finally call it mine!! :)

Thanks guys. This knife is one of, if not my most, fav. style. Choils are not for everyone nor are they for every knife. I have made thisa knife without a choil, and I think it looks and feels better with one.

Norcal, I look forward to it friend.

Nick:)
