I don't have a Muskrat pattern (a few of the furry variety swimming in the brook in front of my holiday home:D) so I feel it's high time to get one, or more...
my instinct turns to CASE. But what do you have and can you post any pix of your favourite Muskrat please? Is it a user pattern or just for collection?

My favorite muskrat was a case i had back in the early 80's, bone stag scales, it was beautiful and a great edc. of course i traded it off so no pictures.
schrade used to make a nice muskrat also, seemed to be slightly smaller and lighter than the case. nice pattern.

A Queen and a Case/Bose collaboration. These are both Hawbaker or modified muskrats. Instead of two clip blades, one blade is a sheepsfoot or Wharncliffe. I like this blade configuration more than the standard two clip blades. Neither sees much use, just a little pocket time now and again. The Case/Bose is a real beauty.

Thanks for the info about the modified Muskrat, looks a lot more useful:thumbup:

What is a Yankee Muskrat? Is this a version with square bolsters?

I just bought that Case/ Bose Antique Bone Modified Muskrat last night. Went round and round about these models for a long time. Finally realized that it is close to custom quality, for not quite the price,(depending on maker) and I feel better about using this than some customs I might buy. Anyway, I think that the clip and wharncliffe blade make for a great combination. that queen most likely is a great user too. But I would agree with Thomason, it going for the Hawbaker muskrat for the different blade option. Good luck, hopefully next week when my muskrat comes in, I will try and post a pic here , willgoy.

Don't mean to be sour grapes, but I just didn't find a 'rat a useful pattern. Had a beautiful Kawamura, and still have a Case/Hawbaker. It's just too long in my pocket, and skinny in my hand. In my case it's a collector not a user.

What can I say...

ive always enjoyed muskrats-
i have a mint schrade improved muskrat -a nice canal street one and my favorite,a fightin bull with mammoth ivory handles

My favorite is the Case/Bose muscrat. The Case/Bose collaboration knives are among the best production knives you can get.
