My friend got me started knife collecting a number of years ago by giving me an "Old timer" muskrat. (I don't collect them, although the muskrat I have is USA 770T on the tang, just FYI if that means anything.) Anyhows, he's got a 65h coming up and I was wondering if there's anybody who sells them (the ones made in NY).
I was actually at the plant the day it closed -lived near there at the time - pretty sad as you can imagine. It's worrisome that CASE seems to be letting people go in the same pattern Schrade did. At any event, I'd appreciate any help or leads you have.

Sadly, I think the best place to find them is E-Bay. You'll want to buy from someone that shows good clean photos of the tang stamp. Good luck.

Steve, do beware of the China made ones, I believe they just say Schrade on the tang, and the shield is raised, rather than just flat. There are a couple of the old brown box Improved Muskrats on Ebay right now that look pretty nice.Good Luck!!

Another thought is to look for a Schrade NY USA or Schrade Walden NY USA 787. That is the open stock muskrat and a nice one too.
