The last two days have been the least productive I have had in a LOOOONNNG time. It took me two days to install the handles on two "D" Handled bowies. Nothing went right.

I accept that the bending and fitting of the guards will take time but the fitting of the stag handles took a full day to get a tight fit. I guess that I was being overly cautious with the sambar stag to avoid ruining a piece of hard to find material.

Today I will clean up the epoxy and finish off the pins before starting the cases. Hope things go better today....if they don't the price of "D" handled bowies is going up.

Hope you have a better day today George.
It was probably due to the fact that your mind was also thinking of other things than the Bowies.
I know first hand how flustrating it can be when things just wont work like normal. It will pass.Just take it slow and easy..
Good Luck,
Bruce

well with the events that happen tuesday i have not be humming whisle while you work myself. so its best that we take our time and don't rush things. want to keep those pink/flesh parts intack. :(

Getting older might have something to do with it, because the older I get, the more things seem to affect me emotionally. I've gone to my regular job, but haven't done anything creative or productive in my shop the last two days. My heart isn't in my work right now, it's with the folks involved with the WTC and the Pentagon.:(

I havent done much in the shop all week. I think we are all so affected by the Evil and the State of the Union it is hard to be creative. The entire USA really is United in the good and the horrific. The older I get the more real things get.

Yep! It has been hard to concentrate in the shop this week.

It has nothing to do with age....

Sincerely,
Rob

yea me and my buddies we are ready to go back to the inf, except they wont take us now to old, but sounds good,it was a sad day for America. god bless her,,, royboy

I've gone in my shop twice since Tuesday. I opened the door turned on the lights, looked around, turned off the lights and left. My heart and mind are elsewhere.

I know how you feel. I retired the first of this month after 30 years active duty in the Marine Corps. Now this, I'm hoping they will call be back if something goes down. Doesn't help that I live near the flight path for John Wayne airport, I miss the planes flying over. Maybe it'll be better when they start flying again. God speed everyone, Greg

I thought it was just me, I burned up a blade on the hardening cycle

and then well, I'm not doing anything untill saturday.

I think it is time that I take a break .......no sense in risking injury because my mind is not on the job at hand. I find myself thinking about the recent events and not on what I am doing. This will pass but will not be forgotten.

I believe this generation will not remember so much "what they were doing when Kennedy was shot" but rather "what we were doing when the WTC was struck".
