I don't know when it happened but I think I've turned into a Spyderco nut instead of a Benchmade nut. I used to think of myself as a Benchmade man, but as I was going through my knives last night I realized my Spydercos out numbered my Benchmades by a fair amount. I still like Benchmades but they seem to have been kind of stagnant as of late while companies like Spyderco and Kershaw keep putting out knives that intrigue me. Plus I like the way Sal Glesser spends the time to deal with the public and answer questions about the way things work in the knife industry and the way Spyderco makes knives. In ending I’d like to congratulate Spyderco on winning another person over to their knives.

Imagine I used to think Spydercos were too funny looking to carry. :o

Kiss your money goodbye:cool:

I have my paycheck direct deposited into Spydercos account, just to save me time:p (kidding)

Jim760,

I've had the bug for more than a couple of decades now and it is a most pleasant illness.

Chris:) :) :)

Got bit 6 years ago, but the infection has gotten worse lately. I love their stuff. Made for the real world. I'm done buying expensive "limited edition" knives. What impresses me is price and functionality - Spyderco's strongest suits.

that Spyderco makes the some of the best production slicers in the industry. If you want a knife to look at, there are plenty of other brands out there. If you want a knife to cut things, and cut things well, the list gets a whole lot shorter.

I just wish Spyderco would stop making so many new models, or at the very least, stop making so many new models that cut so well! Then I would finally be able to save some money.:D

Regards,

Well I bought one a few months ago, and I now have the urge to buy another one. I figured after that I would be done. Maybe not I guess?

Seriously. Sal, I love what you are doing (especially if what you are doing involves Carbon Fiber and BG-42 :D ) but you need to slow down until I, you know, am able to get a job. :p

That's exactly what I used to think too. Now, they seem perfectly normal to me. My interest in spydercos is just a tick below my interest in my favorites knives (SAKs).

Spydercos give excellent bang for the buck. I imagine my next knife will be a Spyderco, and the one after that, and the one after that, and the one after...........

Great product!

I used to be more into benchmade a couple of years ago but then i bought a para, then a ss delica 4, then a g-10 police, then a caly jr, and now a zdp delica. while I still love my bm 812s mini afck I can't get into any of bm newer designs. So I too have been biten by the spyder bug!

I hear that! BM is definitely not moving in a direction that is to my liking. I used to be a big fan of the company, but after the Skirmish (blade hole) debacle, the recent problems New Graham has been having with them, and their lack of what I feel are substantial strides forward, they have all but lost me as a customer. I'll summarize:

Spyderco is testing out "peel-ply" Carbon Fiber handles! Benchmade is testing out Aluminum ones.:thumbdn:

Spyderco introduces some ZDP-189 blade steel folders! Benchmade upgrades some 440C models to 154-CM, and scraps M2 as a blade steel.:thumbdn:

About the only thing innovative that BM has done recently, IMHO, was to produce an OTF model........Oh, wait a minute......Microtech has been making those for years.:thumbdn:

Best wishes,
3G
