What knives honestly are MUST HAVES ?

Some knives that come to my mind are

Delica

Benchmade 710
Leek
Chive
Griptilian
Fallkniven F1
Boker Applegate fairbarn (Spelling)
Kabar

Busse? Gotta have a Busse in there. You are gonna hear that more than once I guarantee you.

I made those early mistakes as well and as a consequence have wasted loads of cash on crap, only a few but these are must haves;
benchmade rukus 610
spyderco manix
fallkniven F1 and S1
SAK soldier
as mentioned a benchmade 710

A SAK is a must too.

A Busse may be a must... later. When I'll have the money.

Oh, and a Laguiole. Classy.

For Busses, maybe a more experienced member can weigh in. I have relatively little experience with Busse compared to some. I have heard the FBM's are a must have. Hang out on the Busse forum, you'll get some knowledge. Swamp Rat Camp Tramp is also spoken highly of, it's on my wish list...
As far as Moras, some like the stainless, some the carbon. I've always been partial to the Clipper design in stainless. Has always worked for me.

Some of my must haves:

Al Mar Sere 2000
Benchmade 710
Benchmade 94x
Blade Tech Pro Hunter
Chris Reeve Sebenza
Emerson Commander
Kershaw Boa
Spyderco Manix/Mini-Manix
Spyderco Military/Para-Military

These are just a few of my favorite folders that I have owned and used over the years.

Really I think it depends on what you are looking to achieve. The knives you mention all have fan followings, but are you looking to have a variety of knives for different purposes to cover all bases or do you want to specialize? I tend to collect things I figure I "should have" only to then realize my preferences really lie elsewhere.

That said, I would add a larger Kershaw (maybe the Junkyard Dog?) and the Sebenza to your list, and you may want to expand on fixed blades. How about a larger outdoors type knife, and a small one like a neck knife? For the latter there's the Lagriffe (available thru Emerson) and the hideaway knife.

Since im a newbie could you expand a bit. I have heard very little of mora knives. My apologies for my lack of knowledge on mora knives.

take care
aj

Moras are basic knives made in Sweden. They are available in different lengths, blade styles, handle styles, and steels (Sandvik stainless, 1095 carbon, and laminated carbon). They are rather thin with a scandi grind. They slice better than most high end blades, and start at around 9 bucks each. Ragweed Forge has a good selection, and is a good place to look at different styles available in the US. My favorites are the Craftsman in Tri-flex steel/black handle or Sandvik steel/orange handle and the 510.

I haven't been collecting long

I just noticed this part of your post. If you are just a collector, then ignore the Moras. They will probably never rise in value, but they are great users.

Here a few I'd consider must haves that I didn't see on your list:

Case yellow CV Trapper
Buck 110
Swamp Rat Howling Rat and Camp Tramp
Sebenza
Dozier Personal

I have to add a Case Sodbuster to the list.

You have to try what appeals to your eye at first, then let your experience guide you.
