This is the best thread I've ever read so far, and since I've seen it posted on other areas of BF, I thought maybe a few of those who frequent the Busse pages might enjoy taking a gander at it...

to quote Kismet:

-A guy went up to Alaska for a three week job. Quit and stayed with the Inuit for 27 years. GREAT images, plain-spoken dialog. A way of life rarely seen nor explained.

life, polar bears (and their livers), and also a surprise guest appearance on page 4...

...and it even has the obligatory knife (Ulu) reference!

Man, I bet those folks don't give a shizzle about their IRA's.

Thanks for the link ddd and the entertaining read:thumbup:

Great reading, alot of great information that I had no idea about.

I really liked the part about the superhuman midgits too.

That is a excellent story and pics. You can see those and others on the Alaska Outdoors Forums in one of the photography threads. Some of the most beautiful pics you could ever see. Might even make you think the subzero arctic is a beautiful place to live in winter! NOT!

Great read! Life is certainly different up there. Hard to imagine surviving under those conditions. Thanks for sharing this!
