haha ok, this is going to be pretty self explanatory once you see the pics. just keep in mind that a loon is a very large bird. and i've never seen one eat anything larger that 8 inches maybe, but 99% of the time just small bait fish, they are carnivores but not great raptors haha... this lake trout full and fat with eggs is probably 23-24 inches?
i couldn't believe it across the bay from my home... thank the lord i got pictures so others will believe me too haha.
she swallows the whole darn thing...

haha just swimming away like nothing just happened haha. i was blown away.

Holy cow! i whish I could catch fish that easily.

Nice work getting it on film!

thanks guys, couldn't believe it myself, just kept snapping away. i didn't notice the orange eggs flying by eye, i only saw them once i looked at the pics.... pretty cool stuff though. season isn't open yet on my lake, so i'm not allowed to do what the loon did yet haha. next weekend though, it's on!

That's amazing! I hope that loon has an iron stomach. I wonder how long the fish was wriggling around in its guts. Also, how long will it take to digest?

That roe pic is wild!

Nature continues to amaze me.

What are the odds to just see it, not to mention have a camera to catch it? Amazing photos friend!

Amazing! Very cool that you could see that!

I've seen the opposite - a northern pike take down a duck! Man, I wish I had a camera then! :(

That was awesome, I especially like the way the fish exploded into sparks half way through being swallowed! What was that? xD

Cool stuff! I like the Just swimming away comment. Like the loon was gonna fly anytime soon with that "carry on"! :D

Good grief! Bones, scales and all! I'll bet it couldn't take off until the next day after it took a nuclear dump! :D
