I have been full bearded for the last three years and my friggin mustache is bushy enough to leave as is, but...when it gets long it makes a B-line straight into my mouth and the only answer is to trim. I love the look of a bushy 'stache, but mine curls right in.

After trimming it does not look quite right with my beard. All is bushy and upper lip is squared:barf: So, last year I tried to do a little mustache combing with the cheapo comb that came with my trimmer and I kinda liked the result of sweeping the 'stache to the sides, into the beard.

I am now on the hunt for the appropriate wax that will help just keep the hair out of my mouth and nicely blended into the sides. I don't feel that I need anything too stiff (I'm not ready to go too handlebar yet...maybe in a few years;)), I'm just looking for a little mustache persuasion:D

The girl that does my hair at the quickie cut is clueless...I really need to find a barber:rolleyes:

Any wax recommendations?

There are a lot of on-line options too.

This is why I'm asking:thumbup:
I have never used any before and the selection is overwhelming. I suppose as inexpensive as they are I should just try a couple different ones.

Did you ever consider just thinning your mustache?I have a battery operated trimmer,it looks like a barbers electric trimmer with an adjustable comb on it,I think it was made by Conair. With that,I just set it on three, then thin my mustache about every 2 weeks or so,you really cant see much of a difference before and after but you can feel a difference.;)

Ditto Beau's recommendation. On top of that, you can pull off the comb and freehand trim anything that still wants to curl into your mouth.

I failed to mention that my beard is very full and longer (4" at the moment, reaching 6" by winters end) and thinning the 'stache in the fashion of using the comb attachment just looks wrong. I have done this and had the quikie cut girl do it but with a long bushy beard it looks all wrong. When I take it down tight (typically as long as the trimmer will go) thinning works and looks fine.

I have gone full and untrimmed for the last couple years but have been trying to tidy things up a bit lately so I can keep it longer year round (and no, it doesn't get hot or itchy...just snotty and icy in the winter:thumbup:)

My beard typically grows pretty full and long but I have to trim the bottom edges to get the rounded effect (Garibaldi), otherwise it turns out very squared at the bottom (my throat and jaw fur are particularly ambitious;))
