My 0350 torsion bar just broke.

I have had this thing for one month. While playing with it watching tv I heard this snap, no more AO. Is this the norm on this model or a fluke? Will Kershaw send me some extras or do I send it in? I know it wont affect the use of it but deployment using the AO is rendered useless, obviously. I am hesitant to purchase anymore Kershaw AO after this.

Fire off an email to Kershaw customer service. Many members here say Kershaw's CS is top notch and will quickly send you out a new bar (or two) at no cost to you. My 0350 performs flawlessly (after probably 3000-4000) cycles, so don't be hesitant about buying more ZT/Kershaw products.

Cheers

As far as being normal, my first 0301 did exactly the same thing. About a month into use the torsion bar snapped, and I was very concerned. Long story short, got a new one swiftly and this time I packed the cavity with vasoline. Haven't had a break since. I have replaced them, when they start to slow down, but that's it.

Thanks guys, called them this am got someone right on the phone and no problems sending me extra bars and screws, however I have never had an AO knife, so how do I swap this thing out? You guys have any vids or tricks to do it?

Thanks

They will send you a torx tool to take the knife down. Lay the knife down open with the back side with all the writing facing the table and the ZT side facing you. Remove the screws and lift the scale off, the bar will be sitting there. Then just swap it out and re-assemble the knife. (Make sure to screw the scale down before trying to close the knife)

This will help, even thought it is of a Blur, this should be able to get you going. :)

Thanks guys, this helped. Took it all apart and put it back together without the torsion bar and I actually like it without the bar. Might leave it this way for awhile.
