So, some folks asked why I do stuff to my knives, and it so, when I got to spots like this,

And spend the day, swimming, and chasing snakes around, I know it will hold up to what I throw at it. My 561 stayed clipped in my trunks or in my only pocket in my trunks the whole day. Chores included cutting paracord, making stakes, and pointy sticks for pokin' at copperheads.

What a beautiful place..... We have just have pine trees and muddy water here in the wilderness.

Yeah, but your cottonmouths don't back down like our copperheads. They like to stand and fight, makes for much more fun. I chased a 2' long copperhead today for a while, him doing the, "Stay away, run away, leave, leave, don't touch me" the whole time. Even when I poked him in the tail, he didn't really want to strike at me.

Last cottonmouths I played with, were all, "LET'S GET IT ON BIG BOY!!! YOU GOTTA STICK, I GOT FANGS, C'MON!!!! GET SOME!!!!" It was quite the fun time.

Eventually Mr. Cottonmouth lost, though.

Mr. Copperhead,

Finally made it to a sunny spot and looked like he didn't want to play anymore, so, I let him be. I was in his house after all.

moose.
oh, man.
if you don't do it already, you should get yourself a fly rod. 6+ split currents oxygenating over shallow rock riffles, over a drop-off, into a deep, protected pool. god that makes my chest hurt looking at it. there are about 10 feeding stations in that first pic alone. how's the trout fishing in that river?

oh yeah, nice knife. you can't even tell you tried to bury it in the Tennessee version of the LaBrea tar pits last month.

Trout fishing? Yeah, that's some good stuff there, but you should see the spots that I go to trout fish for. That's more of a rec area, it fishes good early morning, before anyone gets around, after 10am or so, you got kids splashing, pissing and throwing rocks everywhere. Not so good anymore.

We usually head to the upper elevations, to hit up the native trout. About 7 miles up river, we start hitting the tribs and other spots that look even better. Not many pics I have, cause usually, I have a rod in one hand, and line in the other. :D
