Well I recieved it today, and all I can say is that I know it will do all that I can possibly ask of it. Here she is:

The Tops/Buck CSAR-T. This thing is a tank, and I doubt I can dish out more than it can take. For a little perspective, here's a comparison pic of my Spyderco Techno, Buck Vantage Pro (large), and my 8" bladed Gossman Tusker.

The blade is a little off center, but it doesn't rub, so it'll be fine to that point. I can't really put into words how grippy the scales are, but suffice it to say I'm sure I can tear some skin of my palms with to much sideways torque.

I've read of some complaints about the pocket clip, but I'm not so sure it isn't the fact that it's very tight, and you can't get much slip for cloth between the clip and those scales. At any rate, I'm sure I can fab some sort of comprimise out of that.

I didn't realize that the blade recieved the BOS heat treat, so that's a nice little suprise.

I will agree with many others, it is HEAVY. But when I'm outside, I typically have a gun on one hip, and maybe a pair of pliers on the other, so it shouldn't be that big of a deal.

I ordered from a vendor that's pretty great about returns, so I'll just play with it in front of the TV for a week or so before I formally commit to a relaitionship with it.

Thanks for everything, guys. You came through for me again.

It's on my short list of Buck's I want to get... For its tank like appearance, moreso then anything, glad to hear you like it.

I have two of them. :)

Just be prepared to reprofile if you want to cut anything. :D

I know that many have complained about it being dull, but mine came shaving sharp. I still plan on spending a little time on tge Edge Pro, but it gets a pass for now.

I'm glad you like it. It's an absolute tank of a knife. Have fun beating on it!

It's the thickness behind the edge that impedes performance, not the edge itself.
Found that out really quickly the first time out in the woods with it.

After thinning it out behind the edge, it works pretty darn well. :)

Definitely has a great heat treat, and the tip is practically indestructible.
