I keeping with the spirit of this board, and because I feel I owe something back to a forum with allows me to indulge in the company of others who share my passion for a nice knife (or two, or more...), and since I'll hit 1000 posts this weekend, it's time for me to give away another knife.
What I'm offering up to the lucky winner is this: a brand new AG Russell Curved Jack with a Wharncliffe blade. As per their website this is a very old handle pattern with a Wharncliffe blade made as the original designer intended. The blade measures fifty percent thicker than most other Wharncliffe blades and tapers to the edge and to the point. It is a fairly hefty blade, noticeably larger than my often used Case Swayback (shown for comparison).
Everybody qualifies for this (as long as you're legally able to own it). No games, no contest, just post away. Your post number is your ticket, and I'll use a random number generator to pick someone out.
If you like a traditional knife, this is a good one. You want a heavy EDC, this is hard too beat. You never owned a knife by this maker, or even a higher grade folder, here's a chance.
Just a few more notes: the blade is 3"; there's no half stop, just a smooth (about a 5) pull to open. The bone is white with a few flecks, but should weather out like ivory. The overall size is good, not too big, not too small. Blade steel is Swedish 12C27 stainless at 56-58 Rc. with a satin finish. The bolsters, liners and Norman shield are all of 400 series stainless steel. Measures just 3-5/8" closed and weighs 2.9 oz. It's sharp, and brand new (in the box).
I'll let this run until Fat Tuesday, and pull the name then. Good Luck!
1. I'll pick the winner this coming Tuesday (Fat Tuesday).
2. I'll ship out of the country, but by USPS Priority. Any Customs duties are yours to pay if you win.
3. You have to be 18 to win. Your parents can enter and then it's up to them what they do with it (provided they win).
