I can't believe it, it's my 100th post! I have recently been bitten by the CRKT bug and I'm lovin' it! What are your thoughts on their product line?

CRKT has really picked up, and I think nipping at the heals of companies like Spyderco, Benchmade, etc.

Agree they have picked up, but "nipping at he heels of Spyderco and Benchmade..." Definitely not in materials being used. Maybe in sales. I don't sense that but I be interested to hear from the dealers on this forum.

Well, if they would they take the M-16 model and modify it so that it has a titanium liner and a BG-42 blade...... Seriously thou, if they used better materials I would love their products. Its not like they dont have great designs, just not great materials. Just my opinion.

Congrats on becoming senior now to become senior officially just send each of us 5 dollars and you will get your senior pack from Mike.....

For the $20 I spent on my Mirage Wharncliffe, it is in the 'best buy' catagory. It is one sharp little knife, I was slicing/shaving bits off a sheet of magazine stock. Cutting parallel to the edge of the sheet, 1/16" slivers. That's a factory edge.
Ebbtide out.

PS: Thanx Mike Turber!

Good designs, decent execution, mediocre materials. They will have to come up with some real innovations, or they will be playing catch up for a long time.

I actually prefer stainless steel liners to titanium liners. Titanium liners in general tend to wear faster.

I still believe, as I said in another thread, that CRKT is one of the better manufacturers out there. One of the reasons for their present materials, I think, is to keep their knives more affordable for the average person. And to most people, remember, $20 is considered too much for a good knife. If they don't sell enough knives, they'll be out of business. And their execution of most of their knives seems very good, IMO.
I'm actually very excited about a lot of their new products. And it just seems, from my observations, that their QC is better than Benchmade's, or at least more consistent.
(I like both, though).

I don't think CRKT is playing catch up. They're doing their own thing as is Benchmade and Spyderco. Not everyone can afford a Benchmade or Spyderco, they're filling a niche in the market with great products. Their materials may not be top notch but they work, and for the prices they're charging who can complain.
