My 135...not caper

I received a 135 caper for Christmas a few years ago. I decided to de-hump it and add scales. The debunking was straight forward, kept the original tip shape and length. I’m thinking on adding a swedge like a 110 has to make the point more fine, but currently don’t have a sander that’s suitable.

The scales are made of cherry, and I have a protruding portion into the large handle hole that is a snug fit. Epoxied on, with wooden pins epoxied in (more for looks than anything). I shaped the scales to completely cover the buck markings because I figured it’ll be weird to cover half and I couldn’t figure out a way to leave them completely unobscured that still looked good. The little scallop in the front is great feeling when holding the knife to either side though and provides a sure grip. I finished the scales with a bunch of coats of tungoil.

I wish now I’d made provisions for a lanyard hole but oh well. It doesn’t fit the sheath anymore so I’m working on a sheath.

I’m not sure how I feel about the epoxy, it was my first time using it.

Anyways, I appreciate thoughts about my project as well as pictures of any mods done to your 135 packlites. Overall it was a fun project and seems to be a sweet little knife.
