Back in the day, when Buck was using 440C and Washita stones were the sharpening media norm, a couple of fellas I knew ditched their Bucks in favor of Schrades, because they could sharpen the Schrade 440A, but not the Buck 440C.

Nice find! Congrats!

Awesome score! I wish I could find stuff like those Schrades, they are my favorite knife brand right now (USA Schrades), second only to the almighty Buck mentioned above. My dad's first knife was a Schrade Mustang, similar to yours but with a liner lock and a carbon blade. Someone stole that one, he bought a second in 1980, and he is still using it today for game and fish. Great knives, good job picking it up.

Nice find. I have two of those one I got as a teenager and carried it for a long time. The other I dont know where I picked up but both are users. Great knife for 15 bucks!

6 OT,right? Those are the best built folding hunter Schrade made IMO.They have a bushing for the blade pivot that the others dont.Lighter with the barehead too.Lanyard hole.Great knife.Im always looking for them. And the price is getting higher. The China made one by Taylor is junk.

Cool Schrade, and a good deal to boot. I just got asked to sharpen a similar old Schrade lockback with green scales and brass bolsters, but it's got a carbon blade. Nice little knife...got me looking at Schrades now!

I always liked the one with out the capped end; I sharpened my buddies at work one time and it tooks a great edge:thumbup:!

That is a great find at 15 dollars. I wish I could find that same deal. I would be on it like stink on a skunk. My Mom gave me one of those years ago for Christmas but sadly I lost it somewhere along the way. I always feel kind of bad about losing it when I think of it since my Mom gave it to me.
