Scored the 18" Officers model on Black Friday. After playing with it a bit, I thought it would do good as part of a Nessmuk style trio. Here's a few that I came up with:

Officers Model, Bark River Kalahari II and Fiddleback Forge EDKarda.

Officers Model, Bark River Boone II and Buck 110 LT drop point.

Forged Hawk (1# 8.5oz total weight), Officers model, Ka-Bar Dogs Head Utility and Buck 110 LT drop point.trio_05_resize.jpg trio_06_resize.jpg

Probably won't get around to doing a proper review of the Officers model till spring. For now, let me just say; It's relatively light and fast in hand. Blade is thin, handle is thick, sheath fits well. I rather like it. Thanks for looking!

Nice set of knives and I especially like that Hawk! I have to say I never seen a buck 110 that looks like that! I thought they were all brass and wood. They gone hi tech eh? Cool tho. Do they still have free replacement warranty if you loose it? I lost so many 110's but never took them up on such an offer. I figured it would take six months before you got it so I never bothered.
One more questione: What kind of edge do those officer models have. Looks like a good strong chopper AK like edge.

The Khukris edge is convex, not shaving sharp, but sharp enough. Should be strong too. Do to the khukris thin spine, I plan to use it as a brush blade and thinner green branches. It can probably handle more, its just my preference.

Yes, Buck is making their 110 out of modern materials and upgraded steels. There's the new LT line and Slim line models for those that want lighter and more modern 110's.

The hawk sure is nice. Picked it up at a local event 2 years ago. Been using it to split wood when I go camping.

I love the Hawk too. Very cool.

Thanks! I love a good hawk and this one sure is. I have a few that are mostly good for throwing. This one works for chopping and splitting also.

when I pulled the Khukri out of the box, I couldnt find the Karda. It had slipped out into the packaging and I found it later. Grabbed my Fiddleback Forge EDKarda and took the first pictures. The Fiddleback Kardas were inspired by H.I. Kardas so it felt fitting.

The Khukri is not a 1 blade option. It normally is paired with a small utility knife, the Karda. As a youth, I had a folder, fixed blade, saw and hatchet or axe with me at camp. This setup always worked. Years later I learned about Nessmuk and his trio of blades.

Right now living in an apartment with snow on the ground and my car out of commission, I have no real chance to use my big blades. This won't stop me from taking pictures and dreaming about next spring. ;)

Excellent pics, Heber:)

I love playing the pairing game. I have a Fiddleback Hiking Buddy that always makes the cut. My medium knife may be my Fiddleback Woodsman (that you made a sheath for). My Khuk ranges from a 15" M43 up to a big GRS 21"

That said, I just got a newer model that may be taking over brush duty. The 19" Limbuwan is a winner. It's heavier than a kobra and more leaf shaped than a siru. 19" and about 24oz to the judgement of my arm. Thin in stock and quite whippy. I think the only thing it would excel at more than heavy brush would be limbing...well, LIMBS. This puppy is scary balanced, fast in hand, and puts enough mass behind the broad blade to bite deep. I really dig it:)

Jake, sounds like my officers model. Feel free to add a picture to this thread of some pairings.

Am heading to my mom's house tomorrow for the Holiday weekend, then on to my brothers house. Thinking of taking the Khukri to Mom's so I can test it out.
