Hi Gang -

OK, here's my 1st ever Custom knife and preliminary review. I did a little batonning (hardly a test for this knife really), tip-batonning, and of course a token chopping. All "tests" were performed on some ~5" wet/green Red Oak with a freakin' razor-sharp Bryan Breeden Custom knife. To read the specs, i'd refer you to this http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php/947379-Another-quot-Breeden-s-Razor-s-quot-coming-soon-my-quot-Truth-quot-knife! thread.

OK, here's the initial batonning:

and after a couple "persuasion" nudges with a baton:

TruthBatonBeginningVIII.jpg

TruthBatonBeginningIII.jpg

Since batonning a split was no problem, i thought i'd move onto something a little more interesting - batonning the tip through a little wood:
TruthTip-BatoningI.jpg

and after a little "gentle" coaxing on the pommel with the baton, here's the result:
TruthTip-BatoningIV.jpg

and finally, a little bit of some 2-finger chopping - straight from the "Birds Beak":

and the inevitable result:

OK, this is a rather newb-ish "review", but it's just the initial, prelim 'looky-see'. I'll try to do to something more "interesting" at some point (may even try to video....).

Thanks for checking it out,

frank

Thank you for the post!

That is a great looking knife and a great design.

The rounding of the "bird beak" looks promising and unlike other designs appears as though it would not induce "pinky bite" as is common with other designs.

I look forward to more testing / pics!

Awesome looking knife. I dont think he makes anything I dont like though

Looks Great

What other tests do you have planned??

For example..Firesticks,Kitchen food prep, using the pommel as a hammer to pound tent stakes, etc

Rate handle comfort, handle security, ease of control during use,etc

Keep the photos coming Bro

I like the pics, Frank. It will be cool to see what else you use your knife for.
You have a great design for a alround using knife for kitchen and field craft chores.

Bryan

Great pics buddy, I'm liking this knife more and more each time I see it !

I drew one up recently that is fairly similar but has a less radical handle and is from 3/16" stock....yours is just a beast of beasts !!!:D:thumbup:

Greta pictures, Frank. The more I look at it, the more I like your design. I'm not surprised at how the Truth Knife performed; after all it is Breeden workmanship.

You are soooo right PM!!! If Bryan crafted it, it's gonna cut!!!!

OK, as i'm planning the next round of evaluative processes i want to ensure the criterion match "real world" probable uses which gets me to the topic of cupcake icing. I plan on examining my Breeden knife's ability to spread icing, peanut butter, jam as well as slice cheese and sausage and chop sandwichs in half (maybe even corner-to-corner style - i dunno - something KRAZY!!!!)

All joking aside, thanks for the kudo's guys - means alot coming from you all.

I will plan on the old stand-by tests like fuzz-sticks (though i'm hesitant - it's a Breeden knife fer crying out loud - it's gonna cut stuff really well!!!!), KP and some basic field tasks, though i'm going to have to get a little creative in the testing and will try to at least make things "real-world" interesting.....
