Not sure whether this fits into this section. Read the rules above and figured it should be okay. If not, please feel free to move it. Thanks.

I would not call myself a knifemaker, just because I made one knife. That wouldn't be respectful to those of you who are doing this for many years. A good buddy and I attended a 2 day knife making workshop, offered by the well reputated knifemaker Richard Kappeller from Austria.

Before the workshop startet I developed my own design by making a drawing, which I then used as a template to start building the knife during the workshop. There was a lot of assistance by Richard Kappeller, to help the workshop participants with instructions, but also with practical support at difficult steps of the process. Therefore I would say it is "a knife I built by myself with the support of an experienced knife maker".

Okay. Enough talking. Here are the pics. Appreciate your feedback. For the material I choosed torsion (stainless) damascus and bog oak.

this is exactly the correct forum for this post, thanks
I noticed there are a few changes from the drawing to the finished knife

Great pictures. Looks like you had a terrific time making a beautiful knife.

Very well observed. My initial idea was to have the scales not fully covering the steel, in order to further support the appearance of the damascus pattern. But that would have been much more difficult to make. Aligning the scales and the steel at the grinder is easier and I had to observe the given time of the workshop. Also this method reduces the chances to fail during making process. I am not a native english speaker. Hoping that I am expressing correctly what I mean.
