I made my 1st knife today. I have a couple bench grinders. A 1x30 and 4x36 belt sanders and some steel. Long story short, I'm not gonna be a blacksmith as quick as I thought I would and I had some 15N20-very thin. A few hours, and I was ready for heat treat. To see if the treat came out right I gotta try the brass thing. Anyway-a nice propane kitchen stove and some crisco did it
-then the sharpening. Flat grind. I started out with 220, then went to 320, then went to 40 Micron, then leather belt with white compund, then strop-
SCARY SHARP!!! Warpped it in some nylon lace, and well here it is-my 1st knife/shiv whatever you wanna call it-it has edge, so I guess it's a type of blade, right?
