I found this today while cleaning. My first multitool that I got 40 some odd years ago. I dont know the make. I remember as a kid the blades were hard to open .

I have two of those in my collection (one without spoon & fork). Mine are Japanese products made from less than perfect steel, but I still get a kick out of them.:)

But when you first got it, you believed you could conquer the world. :o

I believe I had the exact same knife as a kid about 34 years ago. I probably mail-ordered it from an advertisement in the back of "Boys Life" magazine (the Cub Scout magazine) using eagerly saved-up allowance money or maybe birthday money.

Mine came with a suede belt pouch. The spoon and fork, being on the outside of the scales when folded, made it difficult to hold and use. It was a totally impractical configuration. The shorter tools on the back of the knife in particular were almost impossible to open. Even then I was aware of what a piece of junk it was, but that didn't stop it from being really "keen" at least for a little while. It later gave me great appreciation for the impeccable quality of a genuine SAK, but it would be many years before I got one of my own.

Now that I think about it, that first genuine SAK I got was a huntsman and it had a virtually identical selection of tools (except for the fork and spoon of course).

Lurker, I hear you. This one has a lot of rust but its hardly ever been used.

I've got one of those in my box of knives somewhere, its old (older then me i imagine) and rough. from recollection, it came from my grandparents place, probably in an old box of junk.
I also have a lot newer one, with a more modern design, that comes apart when you open the spoon and fork, making it a little more practical. its a cheap chinese made thing, but i'm sure i had fun with it when i was a kid.

It looks like they used carbon steel on all of the tools and even the bolsters, but the spoon and fork are still bright. Probably stainless.
