I really enjoy grinding daggers (just sick I guess) and this one was alot of fun.
Chessboard Push Dagger
pushdagger%20micarta.JPG

This push-dagger has a 4" satin finished blade with the ricasso and flats of the knife hand-rubbed in 1095 high carbon. The handle has inset micarta scales of alternating black/white with matching spacers and stainless steel handle bolts. The handle is also ringed with "broken wave" file work. The sheath shown is a horizontal carry with a stingray inlay.

I'm not a fan of push daggers, but this one catches my eye, one of the best I've seen. I really love that handle and the sheath too

Man I love Push Daggers !

The details that you've embellished on this pusher is beautiful ! Awesome sheath ! :)

Excellent job ! ! !

J, man you are really moving on this here knifemaking thing....:D
Say hi to Tess & little J...:)

That is the nicest push dagger I have seen. I really like the way the handle was put together. The sheath also seems like a great match. I wish I could make a knife that looked that good.

J.,
That knife looks great! How about some black and white scrimshaw on the opposite scales with a gambler or chess theme? I think that you should persue a couple more of these with themes. Tell Tess that the sheath also looks great and compliments the knife well.

I like it.

We Canadians are not allowed to legally own pushdaggers. Maybe out lawmakers think we will put out an eye with one (that comment was made with exteme sarcasm).:grumpy:
