These are my 2 newest folders. The first is for a customer. Blade is 4 in long and is differentially heat treated O-1. Bolsters are ladder pattern copper and sterling silver mokume and the scales are african blackwood. Overall length is 9 inches. Backbar is made of 2 pieces of titanium and have been fully fileworked and and anodized, and buffed to bring out a variety of colors. Liners have been fully fileworked and anodized purple. The thumbstud is also made form the same mokume.

The second folder is headed to the Badger show at the end of the month. The blade is 3in long made of Don Hanson Accordian pattern damascus. It was etched lightly and then hot blued. The bolsters are hot blued Eggerling crazy quilt pattern damascus and the scales are fossil walrus ivory. This is a sweet gents folder. Fully fileworked liners, backbar, screws and thumbstud. The liners have been anodized a blue/green color which changes as you move the knife in the light. The screws as well as the blade and bolsters have been heat colored blue. The bloster screws have been hidden for a cleaner look and there is a goldlip pearl inlay on the inside of the backbar.

Thanks for looking,

Dadgum Chuck, everytime I look at your knives I just start to drool!! These are no exception, especially that big'un.......just plain beautiful!! :D  :D

The mokume gane is from Phillip Baldwin of Shining Wave Metals. It is a ladder pattern copper/Sterling Silver laminate.

The idea behind this knife was for a Japanese influenced folder. I think it turned out really well, and have enjoyed working with Chuck. I found him to be very communicative, and open to my suggestions. There is a temper line in the edge that is hard to see in a photograph, but it is there. What is even more interesting, is that Chuck used O-1, which is notoriously hard to acheive an attractive temperline on.

I cannot wait to get that knife! :D

Best Regards,
