As I was recently going through knives for fun and doing "sell/keep" thing, I realized that these 2 were some of the more heavily (quite heavily) modified knives. And they both happen to be SAR 5s...

I need to work on the edge on the reground mirror guy - done by my cousin/uncle, and I want to put some micarta slabs on the skelotonized job (done by one of the Osprey guys, I believe, the edge is sick - I bought it from a guy here). I still need to unwrap it to see what the hole pattern looks like. If the original holes are intact, I think I will get some micarta blocks and do some DIY, if not then it's going to take some figuring...

Those look razor sharp. Cool idea on the paracord wrap. I always liked the Sar-5 wished Jerry would do a re-release of them.

A little unclear here ... are you looking for an estimation of market value on these?

If yes, well, that gonna be tough. Modded knives do not necessarily sell that well on the Exchange, especially now that there is a surplus of minty factory stuff out there. You have to find the right buyer. If you go to sell, describe the knife thoroughly, and be patient to find your buyer.

Good luck.

No, not looking for value, just odd that the two most funky-monkies I have in terms of aftermarket work happen to both be SAR5's...

And showing them.

View attachment 781415 Norcalblacktail did the work. I believe two were done. I think the one you have had a different handle pattern than this.
Yep - some differences...I count one more hole near the bottom...very similar with some variation...

About to order some micarta blocks and try my hand at something new!!

And I just ordered my blocks! Natural canvas *2, ivory paper, black paper, this has got me all fired up!!!

Will need some advice on fastening - will be using sex bolts of some kind...I guess, no tube press...here we geaux!!!
