I'd love to see many of your knives from this year, for those who care to share. Might be better in its own thread then here, but either way is cool. I like posting photos so I want to show off a bit as a proud owner. I had a pretty decent year. Not too many knives but some real goodies.

I considered myself very lucky to land this dreamy B.R. Hughes award winner from Mike Quesenberry. He was really cool about getting me a spot on his MS submission list since I was so passionate about his work.

Meanwhile there was a delay in testing for his MS stamp so in the meantime Mike sold me this fantastically clean hunter which blew my mind. Hes one of my new favorite makers and great great guy to boot.

Terry Vandeventer made this English Bowie knife early in the year and I begged him to make a deal with me when it returned from Little Rock Its stunning to me and a bit different from my others.

The last knife I will be getting in the near future when I am ready for it and pay off my debts. Its my first Knife from Sam. I prefer a polished blade with a hamon, or damascus- but you can't be too choosy when a gorgeous Lurqin comes your way. I always loved the Raptor model. This is the prototype I believe. HUGE thanks to Ryan Hayes for thinking of me and hooking me up when his buddy decided to sell it.

Working this one out was complicated and I sold and traded a large gold coin collection to aid in purchasing it. A Hanson Auto I have wanted for YEARS.. top of the want list.

Wow, all beautiful Jon.
Looking like 2014 was a very good year for custom knife collectors and custom knives in general.

Especially love the little Quesenberry hunter (super clean and "right"), the Lurquin (a simple stunner) and, of course, yet another Hanson. What a year, Jon. Thanks for sharing!

Jon -- great bunch of knives you have acquired or will soon be arriving. Love the Quesenberry Dogbone. That is one design handle I don't have and I have seen a few from Mike that catch my fancy. Glad you created a thread too as it is great to see the pieces that others have been able to add to fine collections which we all enjoy creating. All you have look great and isn't it wonderful that there are so many great knives being made by great makers that we have opportunities to obtain fine works of art.

Jon, you did well collecting those fine pieces. As you know I have quite a few of Mikes knives in my collection, I have to say I'm envious of that Dogbone it's a real work of art.

Congratulations on some fine and diverse acquisitions. One of my favorite Terry Vandeventer knives I have ever seen right there. But I think that "simple" (LOL- it's an integral, isn't it?) Quesenberry hunter is my favorite of the bunch. Thanks for sharing them here.

Thanks guys. The dogbone really is over the top beautiful. Many people have praised it over the years which always makes Mike and I happy. And If the Best of 2014 thread didn't lean toward aggressive tactical user fighters, I think this one would have a very high chance.

Murray- Mike has only made two Dogbones. The first one with a white handle and mine with walrus. You may be remembering all of his amazing coffin shaped handles. I love those as well.

Hello Jon!

Thanks for sharing! You really snatched some great ones this year! All wonderful pieces but that dog bone simply takes my breath away every time I see it!

All the best,
Alex

Great post Jon. You scored some amazing knives this year. I'm a big fan of Mike's work and just discussed a hunter with him this week. Thanks for sharing with the rest of us.

(Btw, for some reason I can't see a photo your Queensberry Hunter In this post. I only see two photos of the Bowie)

Well, I thought (?) there was a Quesenberry hunter there. Maybe I was drinking too much last night. :o

Great year for you, Jon!!! Heck, I remember when you just a folder guy :D

Love the fixed blades you landed and, of course, the Hanson. Always fantastic to land a knife you've lusted for! Congrats!!!

Hey Jon: You have refined your taste in knives and have really educated yourself over the years. It shows readily.

Great stuff. You have a keen eye.

I also like this thread because it's a 'Who's Who' gallery in Knife Photography. A lot of prominence going on in this thread! :)

A 'knockout' year, Jon! You have great taste. That hunter of Mike's is SO clean.

Great 2014 haul for you Jon! I'm a little behind on my posts due to deer hunting season!;)

Warm regards, Jeff
