My post of "now I've done it", well this is a follow up.
I have a small insingo micarta and it needed a pal, a small standard blade 21.



Nice knife overall, of course it fits my hand as does the insingo. The point is cool, wanted a knife with a good point, because there times when nothing else will do. The belly is a nice touch as well. I've had it knife since Monday, it's broken in now, that's pretty fast. I recall the old ones taking longer.:) I like this knife, I will keep it, but somehow I keep wanting to carry this one.:D




I will have some fun later with the standard ti slabs, fitting it with G10 and Micarta. (the metal you see is .050 titanium
as a liner for the micarta)



End of follow up, now I need to get a knife dirty;)
 
How do you work and mill you TI.
I use everything but have not had the time to get into it.
What do you use to cut or machine the basic handle shape.
Ive done TI bolsters once and it took me way too long milling it by hand.
 
I made a "pattern" of 1/8" thick 410 steel, drill, and shape, then hardened it. That way you can grind right up too the pattern without fear of messing up the CRK ti. Drill holes, put in pins, then grind too shape.

I cut with an old hacksaw, grind with my 2 x 72 belt grinder, old fashion stuff
 
Good to know. That is the only way that I work it at this time. I have done it that way before. I am glad to see that this 26 year old has some old fashioned technique.
I like the idea of a steel template to prevent screwing up the TI. Very cool. I might have more confidence in accepting jobs in TI later this year. I know I can do it. Just gotta go for it more often.

Congratulations on the new CRK. Now you have a choice in your rotation.
