Yup, nothing new here but I like it. I posted this pic in another thread but one or two people asked to see more after I posted pics of my first knife in this section. So here is my 2nd knife. 5160 shavin' sharp and milspec paracord. I need to make a sheath for it when I get the time. I do have plenty of other knives in the works that will have proper guards and handles. I have a nice 5" hunter on the bench now. Just stabilizing the burl maple for the handle at the moment. I'll share that one when it's done. All comments welcome.

Very nice man i like it. Looks like it could be an awesome edc.

Thanks everybody. I have to start someplace, right? They'll get more ambitious as I go.

why did you veer away from the original design?

That was my thought Lorien. The grind lines are much higher in the finished product and the hole in the handle is larger. While the grind may make the geometry better for some situations I am curious as to the change from design to finished product.

Thanks for the comments guys.

Lorien, I went with the full height grind because I liked the geometry better for slicing. It is a small knife and won't see much chopping or prying. It also reduced the weight a bit out front giving it a very light and quick feel. As I mentioned at the top that photo was originally posted in another thread in another section. The thread was about prototypes. I was using the photo to make a point about how you sometimes start with a template but you make changes as you go along. I also enlarged the hole at the butt end to drop weight but more so for the visual balance. Rather than having a big slug of dark metal hanging out the back end, I thought the light coming through balanced the bright of the blade. It's a short handle. The handle just barely fits in my hand but I have big hands anyway.

Swede, Blade length is 2.75" and the handle is 3.5".
