Though I have had an RTAKII for a while, fitted as a survival with all the goodies I learned to pack in and around the sheath from this forum,
I decided to take the step for a fixed blade personal. For some reason I look at the RTAKII as an ONTARIO knife, beautiful beast she is
I kicked around all the usual suspects, and will occasionally be on my belt, but mostly in the middle of the truck, as I'm a big folder guy for EDC.
But wanted to have a good, reliable fixed blade of moderate length, for some regular camping, hiking, fishing and such.
So, after much reading, on its way is an RC-4, orange g-10, Molly System.
Psyched and looking forward to it.
Almost went with the KSF leather sheath, but decided to get the regular system first.
If someone has a better leather option, would love to get a small, functional sheath for it, able to hold a small light or sharpener or fire starter. If I ever do EDC with it, would like to get the sheath a bit smaller than the molly setup, maybe even horizontal or upside down.
Plus, I think there's something about leather that makes a fixed feel right.
My variety of larger survival/woods knives are all kydex and various components, I kinda feel this one should be like getting a baseball mitt.
Something you'll enjoy the feel of for years and years.
