My 30th B-day

So it was my 30th birthday last week.
One of my friends picked out a Vic Classic SD in red for my b-day.

I thought it was weird that she picked that for me since she doesn't know that I'm a knife nut.
It turns out my wife suggested a knife for me when my friend was asking what to get for me.
Surprisingly I don't have a Vic Classic. The closest thing I have is a Vic Money Clip.
My wife actually has a Vic Classic in White that her dad bought for her on her key chain but this is the first one for me.

You can see in this picture that my daughter is already trying to steal it from me LOL :D

My dad bought a higonokami for my birthday but wants to give it to me in person when he comes in 2 weeks from Japan to visit my second baby (which is due in 2 more days!)
I think this would be the first knife that my father ever bought/gifted me so I am excited.
Although he used a scalpel for a living he was not really a knife nut like I am.

Congratulations on your first Vic Classic. I keep mine with me all the time, but my Peanut seems easier to reach for lately

KG, happy be-elated Birthday!!! Great knife and beautiful daughter---good luck not giving into her :p

Happy Birthday! It sounds like you had a pretty knife day! ;)

Happy belated Birthday!

Congratulations on the upcoming new addition too. Hope all goes well!

Happy Birthday! Your daughter is a cutie. You are very lucky to have a family that supports (or is it enables) your passion. Make sure to post pics of the Higonokami! Good luck with the incoming baby!!!!

Happy Birthday, congrats on the new family addition soon and if your daughter is anything like mine the classic will be the cheapest thing she wants from you! Lol have a good one man!

Happy (belated) Birthday and congrats on the Classic as well as the other new arrival!

It seems like just yesterday that my guys were born and now they're bigger than me. And they both have their own knife collections :D

I got a black Vic Classic as a Groomsman gift 16 years ago. It is a permanent fixture in my bathroom, or shave bag when I go out of town. I've used those tweezers for numerous splinters on my boys (when I can get them to stay still). Scissors have trimmed stray hair, threads, and cut bandages. Handy little knives. Happy Birthday.

Have a fantastic Birthday KG, its a great read all round-good support from your wife as a knife nut!-that's a bonus, also your Dad .starting to back your habit as well!!
Also KG, I hope all goes well for your birth of the new arrival.

Belated Many Happy Returns KG, and congratulations on your impending arrival. You have a lovely little girl, who seems to share her dad's interest! :)

Congrats on hitting the dirty thirty. I've hit that bend in life as well and I'm doing my best to not let it slow me down. Great gifts and a beautiful daughter, you're a lucky man.

Congratulations KG on both your birthday, and the imminent arrival of your child.:thumbup:

The classic is a great ask, Since mine is on my keyring, I never leave home without it.

Carl.

Happy birthday and congrats on the impending arrival!
Really great photo too!

Happy Birthday! Thanks for the great picture.

A Victorinox Classic was my sole knife for most of my life , and truth be known a Classic is probably still all I truly need day-to-day (<-- let's not go there). The SD version is particularly helpful. Nice gift!

Congratulations on your upcoming new arrival (your father with the higonokami, heh), and of course on the new baby. :)

The Classic will probably be all I really need day to day but don't tell my wife that!!! :D
I already have a hard time justifying any knife purchases LOL
