Here is a pic of my 3rd and 4th knives.

My third, a little camp and kitchen utility knife. Blade forged O-1, triple tempered, brown micarta handle. This knive I tested the blade by whittling through a 1" X 6" pine board and shreding a cardboard wardrobe box. Edge held up fine.

My forth, a little boot or pocket carry knife. Blade also forged O-1. black micarta, ferric nitrate treatment on blade. I wanted a renaissance look.

Both knives have errors. Even when I make a mistake I take the knife through to completion. That way I can learn several lessons on one knife..LOL.

Knife making is fun.

Thanks for looking!

Joe

The third one will look a lot more appealing with a grooved or wrapped handle.
Nice job!

Don't worry too much about little cosmetic imperfections.
I think Ed Fowler once wrote something to effect of: "If you make a perfect knife, then you'll be the first".
Every time I finish another one, it helps to repeat that to myself along with noting things I did wrong and chiding myself to never do that again.:(

The knives pictured look great. Keep up the good work and enjoy!:D

Keep posting those knife pics! I love looking at other folk's work.

Very Nice job!!, you are well on your way....Imperfections are the fields of study we must utilize to get better. We use our eyes to watch our hands make what our imagination created. Any flaws or things you noticed that you dont feel good about is a good thing.
Thats how you raise your bar!!!!! :) Great job!!!

Thanks, all of your comments are very appreciated. Forging has been quite a learning experience. My first attempt looked like I was making a horseshoe with a sharp exterior edge. My current challenge is trying to master the choil/ricasso area where forging the blade bevel begins. One thing I can say is, boy do I like forging and making knives and the responses you get when people look at your work.
