This post is obviously inspired by the "family" of YouTube videos started by JohnWayneColt45. In those videos, YT knife people shared their 6 favorite knives, divided in the following categories:

- Favorite all time
- Favorite EDC
- Favorite tactical
- Favorite small folder or secondary
- Favorite fixed blade
- Favorite safe queen

Well, that was an exceptional idea and I spent a long time watching those videos. But some people don't feel like posting videos, or some don't have tactical knives or safe queens and some others aren't really into fixed blades.

What I propose we do here is: list your favorite 6 knives in any categories you can imagine, or even no categories at all. Pictures are always enjoyable and a little description on why that particular knife is one of your favorites would also be great.

Well, here are my 6 favorite knives:

1) All time favorite
It has to be the Umnumzaan. Great build and finish, feels awesome in the hand and cuts like a light saber. Plus, it has some je ne sais quoi that I believe makes it the best folding knife ever built.

2) Favorite EDC
It's the Sebenza! More of a beater knife than the imposing Umnumzaan, this knife is light, fits great in my pocket but it's also solidly built.

3) Favorite tank
The Strider SMF. Throw an SMF against a brick wall repeatedly and in the end I believe there will be no more wall.

4) My latest purchase
The XM-18 was my latest purchase and I still have to use it hard. But according to general reports, I believe it will be alright.

5) Favorite "classy" knife
The Benchmade 940 is small, classy and fits perfect in those situations where a more rugged knife would cause alarm. So, at work or in more formal settings, it is always in my pocket.

6) My first good knife
I had been playing with knives before, but the Benchmade 907D2 was my first quality knife. I overpayed handsomely for it since I didn't know any better, but I love it because it showed me the huge difference between good and bad. It opened the doors to this wonderful thing of ours.

I'll have to think on this a bit before I post my response.

The last word is your location sur is a strange un. :p

1. Favorite overall knife - Sebenza 21 Large. Nuff said.

2. Favorite edc knife - Spyderco Sage 2. Just an awesome, comfortable, solid knife.

3. Favorite tactical knife - Spyderco Endura 4. Only because you can buy a trainer for it and practice with it and its got a big ole blade.

4. Favorite toy knife - Benchmade Mini Dejavoo. It's a cool looking knife that's just really fun playing around with. You can wrist flick it open like a gravity knife without using the thumbhole which is pretty neat. A flimsy knife in general with the weak liner lock.

5. Favorite small knife - Spyderco Cricket. Big performance, tiny package. Use it as a money clip when I dont want to carry my wallet around.

6. Favorite high value knife - CRKT Drifter. This was probably the hardest knife to pick with there being so many solid options like the Tenacious, Buck Vantage, Skyline etc but there isn't a single knife out there that can be bought for 16 bucks with the same quality/materials as a Drifter. BTW I hate CRKT, they produce some serious garbage in general.

Favorite overall knife - Spyderco Caly 3, just as well built as "high end Ti.blades" but with better ergonomics.

Favorite edc knife - Spyderco Endura, never had a situation that this modern classic had failed me.

Favorite tactical knife - Spyderco Military is so, so underrated but for tactical use I want a fixed blade and I love the Street Beat.

Favorite toy knife - Benchmade 940. Cool looking knife and fun playing around with. A bitch to sharpen.

Favorite small knife - Spyderco Ladybug, no contest.

Favorite high value knife - Vic. Soldier/Pioneer, no list is complete without a Vic.

Favorite fixed - My trusted Eka Nordic W11

Favorite safe queen - Hard to say but it´s between Spyderco Jess Horn Or the Sages...

Opps sorry for making the list longer

subject to change:D

One thing I noticed from those videos and these two replies is that I may have to consider buying a Spyderco pretty soon.
