As the title states, this is the 7th knife off my workbench, using a 1x30 belt grinder.

Started off with bar stock and an angle grinder for pcutting it out and profiling. Moved to the 1x30 to refine the profile and but the bevels in. All grinding done freehand, without jigs.

I quite like how this one turned out.
5160 steel hardened and tempered to around 58-60 HRC.

Full flat grind with false edge on the spine.

Brass guard and spacer, with white G10 spacers interspaced.

Handle is Rhodesian Teak wood. One solitary brass pin for added strength.

Thanks for taking a look!

LOVE IT! The teak looks awesome. Can I ask what brand and grits of paper you use?

Thank you! I use a mix of 36-120 grit ceramic VSM and Norton belts for the initial grinding, and then I switch over to 220-400 grit yellow JFlex belts before handsanding.

Taking enough time on the JFlex belts to get a smooth and even finish really helps to reduce the time I need to spend on handsanding.

On the few blades which I don't hand sand, I use the same progression, but then end off with a medium and then a fine scotchbrite belt. Gives a nice smooth satin finish.
