Some time back I posted a knife that Joe Kious gifted me and later I understand it has a name, "Stormbringer". My first was a plain vanilla version of the sub hilt dagger in 440C with Cocobolo Handle and stainless furniture.

A few months later I was able to get the second one from a good friend here on the forum. It is also 440C with Mesquite Burl handle and is beautifully engraved by Mel Wood on the sub hilt and the blade. Still not enough to call a collection.

Then, just yesterday, I was made aware of the third and was able to buy it. It's the same 440C, but with some really beautiful ivory and with sub hilt engraving by Fred Harrington.

I'm not sure just how many of these Kious beauties were made, but I think I have assembled a meaningful "bunch" of them, and that's how the "accidental collection" came to be.

If that's accidental, I would love to see what you come up with when you try. ;)

Great threesome.

You have a very made special start, Paul.

If this does this give you an appetite for more, then it will
either be great fun or you are in big trouble.... :)

All the best,

Wow Paul! All are beauties and form up a great trio. These are great together as a "meaningful bunch", pack, pride, or whatever you want to call 'em. Thanks for showing them!

I own a bunch of knives from Hill Pearce, and they are all from the eighties. I love them.

Looks like you are a bit nostalgic, too. :D Good for YOU!

Thanks for showing them, Paul. Looking forward to your next acquisition.

This is one accident that ended in a positive outcome, congrats! Can't wait to see the pants you put on em.

Cool stuff, Paul! Very special trio of knives. And, you need to keep some of those clothes you make every week at home. :D

Thanks for sharing!

Those are COOL Paul. I would have thought you had an extensive collection, considering your avocation.

I was also tempted to buy Bob's.

Congrats!

you ought to make a sheath that carries all three...
that would be pretty neat!

Paul I do not know how I missed this

Great stuff buddy I love the Kious fixed blades

Paul,

Classic old school work! Along with Joe, I do know that Ray Cover Sr. made some of the Stormbringer knives. There were probably others. I thought about making them but never got around to it. I did know the original designer, Curt Truell. Heck of a good guy.

I think three does in fact make a collection. It would be interesting to see if more turn up.
