Had a couple of requests lately asking for more pictures of some of my adventures, and I've had alot of downtime lately due to being jobless so I went back through some 22,000 pictures I've taken over the last year or two and figured I'd throw some up. Locations range everywhere from Wisconsin to Florida to Texas to Washington and everything in between.

My old Converse assault boots-for 65 bucks I think these things have the best mileage-per-dollar than any other footwear I've ever owned. I wore them til there was no sole left

Teddy Roosevelt National Forrest, Lion's Peak-AWESOME hike if you live anywhere near the area, it's a great climb over alot of various types of terrain that follows a creek with some pretty neat little waterfalls, up into a vast burn area with seven or eight homesteads in various states of disarray

Beautiful area; you are a lucky man. I almost shacked up with a chick over in Robie Creek.

Nice. More, more!
Your posts often make me wish I could turn the clock back about 15 years, as if I didn't already. So many of those places I'd like to see.

Seven Devils, looking at Hell's Canyon from the approach of He-Devil

Seven Devils-if you don't take this kind of terrain one step at a time, you'll wind up dead either from panicking or losing your footing

ran into this guy and his 6 or 7 year old son in the seven devils, the only other people I've ever seen up there. It fascinated me that he was comfortable enough with the terrain to not only take his son, but let him pack his own gear...

definately not for car camper survivalists

not a bad spot, if I can get my legs to work I'll be camping on robie creek this week. the pack's been stuffed since last saturday but for the life of me I can't seem to get a 6 hour window of relative peace from my arthiritis to make it up there...

from 2500 feet above this lake you can see clear down to the bottom, which I'm sure is hundreds of feet deep. It's cool hiking in this spot because you can easily lake bounce, fill up at one lake, hike for a few hours, run into another lake and fill up again. These lakes are so clean... I drank straight from them. It's not like cows can cover this kind of terrain to pollute the water with cryptosporidium or giardia.

do not know what kind of tree the left one is but I saw a few of them up there, pretty awesome lookin
IMG_4487.jpg

the "trail"... I got lost a couple times, it's not marked at all and you're basically left to judge which path is the easiest to cross. The forest service doesn't recognize or maintain it but it's really the only way to get back to the good camping spots on Sheep Lake.

lost my boonie hat here

sorry about the crazy sized pics, I resized em in photobucket but for whatever reason they're still huge... more on the way, as fast as I can upload em

Sheep Lake, I call it my castle. Surrounded on all sides by the Devils, the bowl it sits in is a garden of Eden of sorts. Because there's one difficult pass in it would be easily defendable and there's deer, sheep, goats, trout, and lots of different birds to eat. If I'm ever faced with a long term survival scinario this is where I'm headed.

Absolutely beautiful places and spaces. I often tell my wife that when the kids are out and I retire that it will be on that side of the mountains. I've always loved that part of the country. Thanks for sharing!

Man I spent the last 4 hours on photobucket uploading and resizing each individual photo... there's gotta be a more efficient way to do this. More inbound...
