Friday was a great day!
We were all packed for a New year's qweekend off at our house in the woods, and we ere backing down the driveway when i spotted the little white truck turn the corner.
Our regular mailman had been sick, so his replacement had not gotten to our street til that exact moment. I walked up to his truck, just as he emerged with a huge triangular box, and he says to me " whats in this box, a sword?"
Little did he know.....

The AK is magnificent. I really like it. Even my Wife likes it, which says a lot. She is rather immune to most knives at this point in our marriage.
The tan/tan color combo looks great. I definitely made the right choice.

You were joking, right? :D

I don't think he was. A triangular box does in fact have three sides.

:p

I can verify that, the box had 3 sides (plus 2 ends, so 5 sided actually), but I hacked it up with my HD before I thought to document the package.

Peter, think long triangular prism, rather than big flat triangular pizza box... There, thats better...

No joke Peter, it has three sides. If you want to nit pick like Jimmy, it does have to ends so it has two ends so at most 5 sides. Look, the USPS shipping containers being used to ship the swords out are indeed triangular, the have three equilateral sides that are capped off by two flat ends. I still have mine if you must have a visual, but please don't make me take a picture of the box to prove it. :D

Well....
It was triangular, but i cut it into little itty bits, then we threw it in the fire.
It was the first victim of my new ak!!!!!!

I TELL YOU, GUYS... IF YOU DO NOT HAVE ONE OF THESE BAD BOYS, YOU JUST DO NOT KNOW WHAT YOU ARE MISSING!!!!!

they are the "free" USPS priority mail "tubes"... triangles being somewhat strong, but they store and ship flat, unlike tubes. the material isn't very strong when wet, and is easy to rip or shred i've found, but it's rigid enough - supposed to be a "poster tube"... putting large knives in them without good padding is probably poor - i had a 22" blade shipped that way recently, and it arrived intact due to extensive padding inside, but the box was deeeestroyed - perhaps a little joke by the USPS during the holiday season.

i've had large odd shaped objects, and have joined two of these boxes together to make a large rectangular box, very long, and big enough to slide all kinds of things in there.

USPS has a fixed price priority box for about $9, that lets you ship ANYTHING you can fit in there, weight is no matter. wanna ship 40 lbs of pennies? raw metal for knife making? no problemo :) just pack it so it won't rip out.

in a prior post, while friendly, having the mail people as you what's in the package "ain't right" and might even be a bad thing to tell them. if it's not liquid, fragile, perishable, or dangerous (hah), perhaps they don't want to know, really :)

CRAP! I threw my box away. If I would have known there was going to be such a fuss about them I would have kept it.

All this time, it's been the Busse BOXES that are collectors!

Hey PG could you post that pic bro... all my boxes had 4 sides and I've never seen a 3 sided box before. In fact doesn't a box have to have 4 sides for it to be called a box? If the 3 sided box is called a triangle than would the 4 sided box be called a square? Should we be refering to the so called boxes as triangles and squares than, and not just plain boxes?

Congrats on your new AK 47! That is one mean looking sword. Now go kill some zombies with it!

Solstice,
I certainly could remove a few arms with this bad boy. :)
It moves pretty quickly for being so long.
