This isn't my usual style. I generally like more belly on my knives and LOVE recurves. Something about the Shrike really appeals to me. I have seen several people comment they don't like it at all. I have a feeling this is one of those that you either love or hate. I am wanting to use this poll to prove or disprove my hypothesis.

Here it is:

...so I might change my opinion when I get it in hand. For some reason the shape appeals to me. It looks vaguely familar yet somehow unique.

I like it, but I don't love it. So I guess that means I could take it or leave it. Nice knife, but there are quite a few that I like the looks of better. Plus, there are blade profiles that I find more useful. I do find the shape of the handle to be one that I find very comfortable and that offers a sure grip.

I like it...but it looks vaguely like a CRKT S-2 with the way that the handle curves and how the blade looks...maybe I'm just crazy though...

the custom one looks nice! the circular pattern on the handle is nice and the blade is nice!

I can´t help myself, but I am unable to find an Al Mar knife which I really like the looks of.

Even though some of them are in market segments I´m very much interested in (such as the Green Beret and the SERE), they somehow just don´t match my aesthetical expectations.

I do not doubt that Al Mar produces knives of excellent quality, but the Shrike is just like any other Al Mar knife for me: not too appealing. I especially dislike the blade shape. It´s IMO quite ugly and doesn´t look too purposefully designed. The handle doesn´t look so bad, though.

Hi Dennis,

It's been too long buddy. :) I like the looks of that Al Mar too. I think is just something about the overall lines of the knife I find appealing. I really like that damascus one with the blue liners. I would have put the "chop" on the handle instead of the blade though. I don't like it when damascus has any kind of logos on it.

I can't vote due to my current peasant status on this forum. Hopefully I'll be remedying that soon though.;)

If I could vote, it would be for the "I can take it or leave it" choice. The Al Mar Shrike has no type of guard or choil for finger protection. Maybe some people are comfortable with this, but I've discovered I'm just klutsy enough to need one on my using knives.
