I thought I had posted this the other day but I guess that senior thing kicked in on me so I'm posting it now.
This past Monday morning @traumkomode (Andrew) and I met for coffee. I was a few minutes late so when I walked into Odd's Café I saw Andrew and he had a new Shuffler lying on the table. We talked a bit and he said "this is yours" I opened it and inside was this beautiful new knife that he had put an incredible edge on. There was also a note in the box so I read it and my jaw dropped.
Now there are 5 of us besides @traumkommode that have become really good friends here on the porch. They are @paulhilborn, @Half/Stop, mrknife mrknife , Campbellclanman Campbellclanman and myself. Unbeknown to me @traumkommode had conspired with and these guys and they had purchased this wonderful knife for me. I can't tell you how surprised I was that this sneaky bunch had done this. Andrew as far as I'm concerned you are now the 6th Amigo. :D I know that this place we call the Porch is simply part of a knife forum but it is also a place where real friendships are made and this is a perfect example of the quality of the folks that make this more than a knife forum.
To Paul, Duncan, Ron, Jack and Andrew I thank you from the bottom of my heart.

Wow, that's an awesome gift! I seem to have totally fallen for my Shuffler. I set it out along with my other couple of favorites (a Lloyd and a Case/Bose) and I end up with the Shuffler in my pocket every day.

The bigger blessing are the friends though - I've talked with a couple of then a bit and have read a lot from the others... upstanding guys on all counts. You're doubly blessed sir!

Congrats on the new knife and the good friends, Randy!:cool::cool::thumbsup:

Thanks for sharing the news here. When I got up this morning, I checked online to find out that my injury-hampered Purdue Boilermakers lost their Sweet Sixteen game last night; that was sad, but unsurprising, news. But then I checked The Porch and found your thread (and your steak post :)) and that cheered me up!:cool::thumbsup:

You and your amigos are a legendarily generous bunch of guys, and thinking about that got a song stuck in my head. Then I started modifying the lyrics :
The legends live on, Paul, Jack, Andrew, and Ron, and Duncan in Land of the Kiwi.
Their big hearts, it's said, always give knives to friends, and to strangers, and even to Randy!! :p

(If you try, you can make "Paul, Jack, Andrew, and Ron" fit easily into the space for "from the Chippewa on down" in the original. ;))
