So here are my ano BMs, from left to right: BM42S (bronze), BM42 (gold w/pink CS holes), BM42 (experiment in progress...), BM43MC (splash), BM43A, BM46A-01 (#111), BM46BLK-600 (#16), BM46BLK-601 (#63), BM47A, BM49-04 (#100).

And from the back...

Enjoy!!

What annoys me to no end is that because I live in Canada it is illegal for me to own a balisong. It is a style of knife that I really like.

That sucks. Why is it that some places have such silly laws? Why can't they all be worded the same? Oh, and a correction. On the 2nd bali, the front is green ano with pink CS holes, and the backside is blue with gold CS holes. The green is still too bright too show up properly. I need more polishing. Hmmm...

oh lordy...lordy ...lordy...someone's got a lot of skeletons in their closet! :)

nice looking group there, buddy.

Personally i dont get the point of these knifes. Looking at it from a functionality stance i dont see any benefits. It takes longer to open than most decent folders.

Actually, I can open one FAR faster than normal people can open a folder, and with the handles latched, I have a cutting tool with near the strength of a fixed blade, i.e., much better than a folder. Now, realistically, they're illegal in most states, for reasons I still don't understand, mostly because most of the older idiots who're in power right now fear change, and people are threatened by things they don't understand. The balisong is arguably the most fun knife to play with in the world, because there's so much you can do with one. They have a variety of styles, blades and handles, so that someone can pretty much tailor-make one for their exact needs. I like them with serrated blades, as I find more use for serrated blades than plain ones, but that's just me, and everyone has different tastes. You, eyeeatingfish, so example, seem to be very much into fixed blades, which I personally don't like much. I have a few, but "looking at it from a functionality stance i don't see any benefits." Folders are utilitarian. Fixed blades are for cooks and hunters. Balis are for those of us who feel that there should be more to a knife than basic function and form. They should be fun, and some of us like them from the beauty standpoint, as I've seen balis that put ANY other knife to shame. I've also seen folders and fixed blades that sold for over $2000, and I don't get it. Sure, they're functional, but I don't like them. And that's all that matters. If you don't like them, fine. Keep it to yourself. Those of us who understand will just smile and tell you to buy one, and then you can decide for your self. There are hundreds of places online where you can download or watch video of people doing things with balis that you wouldn't have imagined, much less thought possible. Hell, there are still users out there who can do things with balis that I just shake my head in wonder over. Try to enjoy them. I just like these knives. If you can't appreciate the function, just appreciate the form.

For utilitarian purposes, their lock strength is second only to a fixed blade. People can open them faster than they will ever need to, but I doubt someone can open it faster than another person who's familiar with a Griptilian for instance. Oh yeah, their fun as hell. Isn't at least part of selecting and using a knife in the name of fun?

Last thing, EXCELLENT COLLECTION!

Dont get me wrong, I like a good knife, i was just trying to understand the real interest some people have in them.

And i do have my griptillian to the point where it opens with the flick of a wrist so id bet that i coud open it faster than a bali knife.

Personally, mine is only a toy, even if they were legal here  I wouldn't carry one.

But I spend hours flipping them.
