Thank you for the many, "Hey where the hell are you, you lazy bastard" messages :) Actually some very nice where are you's.
I fell down the steps and blew my knee out (again) thought I was at the bottom and as it turns out I wasn't but... soon was.
Snap! Pop! and Ouch!
Oh well. They have been bugging me to get a new one for a while, maybe this just speeds that along. Spent some time in the VA Hospital. God bless those folks. As for me - "Condition insignificant" The knee got blown out the first time in Urban Warfare School and has been like an "X-Wife Knee" ever since.

Lots of excitement with Blade coming up ( Thanks be to a refundable ticket ) Don't think I'll make this one sadly and based on everything I have seen and heard looking at the threads today (Oh Boy, Damn)
Wow is a word that kept creeping into my mind.
Rest assured I will hold down the fort while you ALL are having a grand ol' time at the Super Bowl/World Series of the Knife World.

My dad had a dodgy knee from his army days (army football team) he had a knee replacement about 4 years ago and says its changed things in a very positive way.

Now wouldnt it be cool to have Rick produce a replacement knee, bead blasted with bronze DLC......

Welcome back. I hope you make a quick recovery. If it makes you feel better, I'm not going to Blade either...but I'll be there next year no doubt.
 
Once again - you have my prayers for a speedy and painless recovery sir. A TDI class next weekend (Active Shooter) will keep me from Blade, but I think I definitely want to attend next year. I've driven through Atlanta and visited their airport more times than I can count...It would be nice to spend a long weekend there and check out the town.
 
Thoughts and prayers from here. Get the new knee they are amazing and you will wish you had it sooner. I wont lie the rehab sucks but attack it like a warrior and it will have a very positive result.
 
You have been noticeably absent, and truly missed. Speedy recovery, my friend.

As for Blade, if it somehow plays out where you can attend, your entry is on me, a 3.5 will be happily lended to you for the weekend and I might even try to hunt down a little motorized mobility. If you cannot make it, there's always next year. And the GTGs in northern OH look to provide another possibility to consider.
 
Hi sorry about the knee and glad you are back. I have been out also but just busy at work. Been reading not responding. If your Doc needs anything sharpened let me know, because of your help I have gotten fairly good on the wicked edge. Get the knee back to running speed so you can pester the bear around your place again.

Thanks again Guys, on a funny note. After "Triage" (VA talk for E.R.) Doc comes in and says, "Bad fall I see".
I quip, "No not really, Fall was fine apparently I botched the landing" (BaBoom)
Anyway difference between doing this when I was 25 years old and now is "Noticeable".
First time it was the whole knee, this time it's knee/back/hip and shoulder. Sometimes you get reminded that just because you think you're still 16 and irresistable actually - not so much. Well...maybe still irresistable :)
 
Damn, ya old coot, you have to be more careful at your age! :D I wondered where you were, figured something was up! Hang in there, they'll get you fixed up.

Just send an assassin, I'll leave the door open. Anybody ever says childbirth is the most pain a human can suffer never tried out for the special olympics by throwing themselves down a flight of steps. If I could reach my XM18 I'd stab myself in my brain.
Doctor asked me if I wanted pain meds and I said "No" that's proof enough right there I suffered brain damage.
You guys should come visit me :( Been to one Blade you been to em' ..... nevermind:mad:
 
You could call the physician's office and reconsider the medication decision. I understand not taking pills. When I was in the medical facility for (undisclosed injury), the nurses had to push the button that administered pain meds, I would not.
 
I guess getting you a slinky would be inappropriate...don't want you playin' on the stairs :) Hope you get back to 100% soon!

Did you have one of those "Four hour"....conditions? :D Most pain killers don't work on me for some reason and I fear finding one that does and liking it.
